Jockey Emil Zahariev surprised Zygmunt Sobolewski - the owner of Height of Beauty (GB) - as he won Nagroda Konstelacji for the second time in a row aboard the mare he trains himself.
It seems the Partynice racetrack in Wrocław suits Height of Beauty (GB) as she landed back to back victories in Nagroda Konstelacji - a 2400 meters contest for fillies and mares, 3 years old and up. The race was shaping up as a match between two Polish Oaks winners - Furia (GER) and Iron Belle (FR), but it was Height of Beauty who stole the show. She took the lead at the last 300 meters of the race and hit the wire first a length in front of fast closing Tagra (FR). The 3yo filly trained by Robert Świątek and with Natalia Hendzel aboard caused a huge surprice to finish second. This year’s Oaks winner Furia with Aleksander Reznikov in the irons was finishing strong at the last stage of the race but she only managed to catch Iron Belle ridden by Victor Popov and finished third.
Height of Beauty’s career debut came in late august 2015 at Służewiec racetrack in Warsaw. She never raced as a two-year-old. She finished third in her first start but later in the season won 4 races at the distances between 1800-2200 meters. The connections were confident about the filly’s abilities and entered her in the 2016 edition of Wielka Warszawska, Poland’s biggest race. The 2600 meters contest for 3-year-olds and up was dominated by superstar colts Caccini (FR) and Va Bank (IRE), but Hight of Beauty finished 3rd loosing olny 2 lenghts to the 2015 Polish Triple Crown winner. Two weeks later she was sent to Wrocław and won her first Nagroda Konstelacji. After a long break from racing she started her 2017 season racing against colts in the biggest events, including this year’s Wielka Warszawska but the breakthrough came in Wrocław as she held on impressively to win Nagroda Konstelacji for a second time in a row.
Height of Beauty is a 5-year old daughter of Youmzain, out of Erhaab mare Height of Vanity, bred by Rabbah Bloodstock Ltd.
